Extract from the diary of Lt Charles Brockbank, 1st Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

Thursday. Two more bombs were dropped today, both burst, but no person was injured, we seem to be lucky in this respect. Route march this morning & this afternoon are lectures by Specky which were quite interesting but fearfully obvious to a person with any common sense.
