18 May 1915

Extract from the war diary of Lt Charles Brockbank, 1st Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment charles brockbank Tuesday.  I forgot to write last night the [sic] George Broadhurst walked into our office to report he was going with Bill Dodge. We naturally had a good long yarn about the folks at home & abroad. The Base Detail funeral party never turned up till 7.45 A. M. instead of 7.15 so the Staff Captain got on my tracks, I referred him to O.C. Base Details & then he fairly ticked him off. It has rained all day, but this afternoon’s funerals went off all O.K
