Extract from the war diary of Lt Charles Brockbank, 1st Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

Tuesday.  I am Orderly Officer today. It rained like a good ’un for about an hour, just long enough to wet me. This afternoon I had a funeral but there is nothing special to report. Hartley turned up this afternoon, he had been taking some men to ETAPLES from HAVRE so of course called in to see us.
