Extract from the official war diary of the 2nd Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

KEMMEL SHELTERS

7am-1230pm Parades under Coy Commanders for drill, musketry and physical training.

4pm Men put into dug-outs for ½ hour as Germans dropped a few shells over KEMMEL HILL.

7pm Bn left to take over trenches from 1st SUFFOLK Regt.

10.50pm Relief completed – Heavy rain.
