Extract from the official war diary of the 2nd Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

Trenches near Lindenhoek

9am 2Lieut ADSHEAD left to join Brigade Mining Sectn.

10am Germans shelled S.P.7.

11am Lieut Col PEARSE from Act. Bd. Gen. assumed command of the Bn.

12 noon Lieut McGREGOR& 16 O.R. No 2 Coy left to form Brigade Drainage Section.

2.30pm O.C. in E1 reports Germans heard mining above our mine.

Brigade Mining Officer sent for – No results.

Casualties Nil.
