Extract from the official war diary of 1st Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

Battalion marched to COLLEMONT via DOULLENS and LUCHEUX, starting 10.AM. arrived at CULLEMONT, 3.45 P.M.  Bn is attached to XIII Inf Bde temporarily.

Draft of 43 O.R’s joined the battalion. The C.O., L.G.O. (2Lt Lomas) and OC “A” & “B” Coys (Capt F. White & Capt W.H.G. Baker went on ahead of the battalion to reconnoitre the trench which the battalion were to take over from the French
