Extract from the diary of Lt B H Gregg, 5th Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

[Lt Gregg joined up in August 1914 in Chester. He survived the war and died aged 102 in Canada.]

Sunday. Fine red dawn, sunny all day. Awakened at 6a.m. Supply train came in at 7 a.m. Met all the others & went on to FREVENT. Had breakfast & met the mess cart. Marched to GRAND RULLECOURT. Arrived at noon, lunched at H.Q. Much mail.
