Extract from the official war diary of 10th Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

MONTS EN TERNOIS

Quiet all day. At 7.30 p.m. the enemy exploded a mine opposite right of P.76 held by A Company. Bombing post established on near lip of crater. Several N.C.Os and men of A Company holding the outpost line were buried by the explosion, and some losses were suffered in consolidating position.
