Extract from the official war diary of 10th Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment

Trenches

Considerable shelling during the day causing damage to our line of resistance GUERIN and the support trenches. The outpost line suffered considerably from trench mortar firing small aerial torpedoes. We were relieved by the 3rd Worcesters at night, 2 Coys went into billets MONT ST ELOY, other 2 and H.Q. to ACQ.
