Extract from the war diary of Lt Charles Brockbank, Machine Gun Corps
Sunday. It was quiet over on THIEPVAL until 3.30 p.m. when we opened a terrific barrage. We could not see what was happening as it was the other side of the hill. Leslie Palmer turned up & said I was relieved so I packed up and moved onto ENGLEBELMER to the Coy. H.Q. The mess cart came up and they sent us down to BUS-en-ARTOIS in it for a rest.
