Extract from the official war diary of the 11th Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment


The battalion was relieved by the 8th Border Regt and returned to billets and dug outs in the RED LODGE area, Batt: H.Q. and one company remaining in their original position at STAFFORD HOUSE. After the first day in rest which when the battalion had baths, working parties were found daily for work on the trenches. About 130 men were found daily for these parties
