18 December 1916

Extract from the diary of Maj P K Glazebrook, Cheshire Yeomanry, Egypt Expeditionary Force

A squadron, with convoy of 45 camel, marched at 9 am. and did nine miles before lunch, and 10 ½ after it. camping on the “Wady”. The men were a little bit tired & there were two with very sore feet, but they did pretty well on the whole. Boumphrey, Eason, & George Wilbraham , who is in A squadron now , marched with me, & Buster rode , as he has not been very well lately. I had provided lunch back for the men in the canteen, and they got tea at about 7 pm.
