Extract from the official war diary of the 2nd Bn, 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment
7.15 pm
Capt. TURNER, LCpl LLOYD & Pte WAINWRIGHT No 3 Coy, left trenches to reconnoitre a supposed GERMAN SAP. Subsequently the Bn. was relieved by 1st SUFFOLK REGT and proceeded to BRIGADE RESERVE at BUS FARM – less No. 4 Coy which remained at GABLE FARM, under orders of O/C SUFFOLK REGT.
